WSG

Resto Shaman, Frost DK and frost mage/rogue for defense.
Fire Mage with disc priest/resto druid for Flag Carrying
Hunter for controlling middle.
Warrior for pushing.

Usually its a good idea to control mid. If the enemy at mid are nuking the flag carrier when he leaves our building through the tunnel etc. Its the difference between smart midfield control and "the idiots fighting at mid" that don't even realize the flag carrier is running by them.Fernando Gogginshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02594663210623056926noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-70857495295538212.post-84876103985151966442011-05-02T13:25:00.000+01:002011-05-02T13:25:00.224+01:00Dueling against mages as a warriorContrary to popular belief mages are can be pretty easy. You will always get a charge in on these guys. When you charge use battle shout or mortal strike them or whatever before they blink. After they blink they will always cast poly. When you see that they start casting you use blood rage! you will get free rage and get insta healed when in polymorph sweet huh?

If poly breaks early don't bother trying to intercept since you will most likely fail and be stuck in zerker stance for that nasty fire blast.
When poly breaks from dmg use the blazing emblem trinket if you have and intercept the mage. Now its important that you hamstring him before he blinks. You should have enough rage to mortal strike the bastard to before he blinks again. After this it should be enough with a critt and execute to kill him.
Standing still allows stealth classes to set up on you with ease. Not to mention, if a rogue or feral druid does happen to open on you, they can gain a distinct advantage depending upon the size of the can of whoopass they were able to open on you during that time. Also, if you are within range of a caster, standing still and within range allows them to get off some of their higher damage spells which require casting times.

Proper movement and positioning are key

Kiting is a concept that all Hunters should learn. Most Hunters will find it unnecessary until later levels, and might never use it if they never tackle hard battles. The basic premise of kiting is keeping your range while dealing damage.

It is very very important that you learn how to keybind efficiently and use your mouse to turn. Keyboard turning(Using A and D or Q and E to turn) is very inefficient and ineffective. It is much more effective to use your keyboard to bind all your spells than it is to use your mouse to click them. I’m sure some of you may find it difficult at first to adjust from clicking or keyboard turning but once you get used to it, you’ll see just how much quicker it is. Most FPS gamers find it natural to turn using the keyboard, and strafe with the movement keys. It’s almost impossible to kite, jump shot, accurately use disengage to do a full 180(I call this the hunter charge) if you use your keyboard to turn, and mouse to click your abilities. Do yourself a favor and unbind your “S” key. There’s no place for backpeddling on the battlefield!
Initially when I started I clicked as because the action bar’s were unbinded and the main action bar only went from 1 to =, and I thought that was the only way to play. I quickly figured out how to keybind and over time found what was comfortable to use.

Macros

List of Macros:

#showtooltip# Wing Clip
/cast Wing Clip
/cancelaura Deterrence
/cancelaura Hand of Protection

What this macro does is cancels any immunity that you may have on you, so you can start attacking again. I find it useful to bind with Wing Clip, instead of having to use another keybind for it.

#showtooltip Eagle Eye
/use !Eagle Eye

This one is just a fun macro. It allows you to use Eagle eye just like a Shaman’s Far Sight ability.

#showtooltip Flare
/use !Flare

Now what the ! does before flare, is keeps the targetting circle toggled on, even if you mash the button a few times, so you don’t lose the targetting reticle. The following macros do essentially the same thing.

#showtooltip#
/cast !Aspect of the Fox
#showtooltip#
/cast !Aspect of the Hawk

Now I don’t use one of these for AotCheetah. Reason being I want to cancel it, when I hit the button again.

#showtooltip Roar of sacrifice
/cast [target=mouseover,help,exists][help][target=player] Roar of sacrifice

What this macro does, is cast RoS on the portrait or friendly you currently have your mouseover. If you have no mouseover target, then it will use RoS on you.

#showtooltip
/stopcasting
/cast feign death

#showtooltip# Silencing Shot
/stopcasting
/cast Silencing Shot

The /stopcasting in these macros ensure that you will silence your target instantly, or instantly feign, even if you are in the middle of casting steady/aimed shot.

#showtooltip#
/stopcasting
/cast [target=focus] Scatter shot

#showtooltip#
/stopcasting
/cast [target=focus] Silencing Shot

#showtooltip#
/cast [target=focus] Wyvern Sting

These macros will use the ability on your Focus target instead of your normal target.

Overall, I don't find the health difference to be that big of a deal. As long as it scales with the content, it doesn't really matter. The only thing it could affect is a lvl 85 fighting against a 70 in world pvp, which I could care less about since world pvp died years ago.I love the idea of goblins, the worgen dont make any sense to me. im still leaning back and forth about whether to return for cataclysm. not getting into the beta after 4 years of WoW loyalty kind of did it for me. I've never been a hardcore raider. I've downed Lich King, but a lot of people have these days. In BC, I only got up to Hyjal, and I never had the opportunity to run raids in original very often, so I didn't get far at all.

I'm a PvPer however, and so far I've loved everything despite the bugs. I love Tol barad, the faster Queuing system, and the new design of players overall. To sum it up, Cataclysm is a whole buncha fun.Fernando Gogginshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02594663210623056926noreply@blogger.com4
